Council News

MACA Policy update
The temporary changes introduced to the MACA policy as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic will be removed from 1 July.Ìý The major effects include students will no longer be able to submit a personal statement with a signed declaration in lieu of a medical/health certificate for Medical Circumstances (Procedure 6f), or in lieu of written evidence from a person or authority for Compassionate and/or Extenuating Circumstances (Procedure 6g).

Recognition of research excellence for many of our academic staff members in recent months has been well deserved and should be celebrated.
New events process
The Division of External Engagement (DEE) has launched a new Events process. Information for Faculties, and other Divisions across the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ on how to submit an Event Briefing Form is provided. A set of criteria has been established to determine the appropriate level of DEE support for non-Faculty events. Key information and commonly used templates and sample documents are also available to help you deliver a successful event.
Union House food and beverage venue
Feedback on the new staff-focused food and beverage venue in Union House has been collated. Clear themes include: the importance of a staff-focused space; the need for somewhere to relax, work and discuss as well as eat and entertain; convenient opening hours; affordability; and a modern, relaxed, lounge feel. A strategic insights document, which is now available and your  is encouraged.
