What is a Code of Conduct?
Conduct is a term used to describe how we behave and how we interact with other people inÌýour communities. All members of the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ community are expected to behave in waysÌýthat support the safety and inclusion of all members of the Community and have aÌýresponsibility to ensure that their behaviour does not adversely affect other members of theÌýÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ Community, the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ itself, or the community at large.Ìý

To whom does this Code apply?
If you are enrolled at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide then this Code applies to you, including whenÌýyou are:Ìý
- undertaking activities related to your study, including clinical placements, internships,Ìýpracticums, field trips, study away, exchange and study abroad, and examinations;Ìý
- representing the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide, for example, promotional activities, competitionsÌýor sporting activities;Ìý
- on any property owned or leased by the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide, whether or not thisÌýlocation is connected to your study;Ìý
- using ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ IT resources or other equipment referred to in the IT Acceptable Use andÌýSecurity Policy;Ìý
- on any ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ owned, managed, affiliated or branded student accommodation,Ìýincluding Aquinas College, Lincoln College, St Ann’s College, St Mark’s College, andÌýScape; orÌý
- participating in activities or events organised by the Adelaide ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ Union (YouX),ÌýAdelaide ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ Sport, or their affiliated organisations or clubs.Ìý

What happens if the Code is breached?
Conduct that warrants criminal investigation may be referred to the relevant law enforcementÌýagency.Ìý
A breach of this Code may constitute misconduct. Allegations of a breach of the Code will beÌýconsidered in accordance with the Student Misconduct Policy or other relevant policy andÌýpenalties may apply.Ìý

Honesty, Respect, and Integrity
Students at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide are expected to:Ìý
- Treat staff, other students, and visitors to the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ with respect and courtesy.Ìý
- Respect freedom of speech, including in academic work.Ìý
- Be accountable for their personal and academic decisions and conduct.Ìý
- Demonstrate honesty and integrity in their interactions with the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥. This includesÌýnotÌýengaging in fraud, providing false documents (e.g. transcripts, medical documentation), orÌýpresenting work for assessment that is not their own.Ìý
- Refrain from behaving in a way that threatens the physical or emotional well-being ofÌýothers, including bullying, slander, sexual misconduct, vilification, or discrimination.Ìý
- Comply with all State and Federal laws.Ìý

The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ and its Community
Students at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide are expected to:Ìý
- Respond to directions by those authorised to give them, including issues related toÌýaccess to campus spaces, assessment and examinations, and behaviour on ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥Ìýpremises.Ìý
- Ensure that they have permission if undertaking the audio or visual recording of anyÌýindividual, group, or activity.Ìý
- Respect the privacy of staff and students, including not divulging confidential or personalÌýinformation.Ìý
- Use information communication technology facilities, including email, website, and libraryÌýresources appropriately, and in accordance with the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥â€™s IT Acceptable Use andÌýSecurity Policy.Ìý
- Refrain from disrupting academic or official social/cultural activities.Ìý
- Avoid behaviour that may detrimentally affect others’ ability to engage with their studies orÌýenjoy ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ life.Ìý
- Not seek or obtain access to ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ property/spaces to which they are not authorisedÌýto have access.Ìý
- Not misuse, interfere with, endanger, damage, steal or cause the loss of any property orÌýfacilities, or digital assets which are owned or controlled by the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ or which areÌýlawfully on ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ premises, including intellectual property.

ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ Rules and Governance
Students at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide are expected to:Ìý
- Comply with all ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ policies, procedures and rules.Ìý
- Be responsible for their own enrolment, and completion and submission of assessment.Ìý
- Comply with any discipline specific codes of conduct that may apply to them and theirÌýfuture profession, including while on placement.Ìý
- Identify themselves (and to produce a Student ID card within a reasonable time of beingÌýrequested) when asked to do so by a ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ staff member (e.g., by a security officerÌýor examination invigilator).
