Andrew Roff and Alex Cothren are both award-winning South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n writers whose works play with urgent political and social issues.
Alex Cothren has recently released his debut collection of satirical dystopias, Playing Nice Was Getting Me Nowhere (Pink Shorts Press). Alex is a previous winner of both the Carmel Bird and Peter Carey Awards for short fiction.He has writing published or forthcoming in Meanjin, Island, Overland Online, The Conversation and ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n Book Review, and he co-edited Westerly’s South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ Special Issue in 2018
Andrew Roff is the author of short story collection Teeth of a Slow Machine and recently released his debut speculative fiction novel, Here Are My Demands (Wakefield Press). Andrew Roff's short fiction has appeared in Meanjin, Overland, Griffith Review and Going Down Swinging, among other outlets. He was the winner of the 2020 Peter Carey Short Story Award and the 2018 Margaret River Press Short Story Competition, as well as having been shortlisted and commended in many other short story prizes. In 2016, his first novel was shortlisted for the Wakefield Press Unpublished Manuscript Award at Adelaide Writers Week.
