ORCiD for HDR Students
Students, especially Higher Degree by Research (HDR) students are encouraged to sign up for and register their ORCiD with the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ via Aurora.
There are a number of ways you can use your ORCiD to make life a little bit easier and maximise the benefit of setting up an ORCiD. One of these is enabling auto-claiming of publications associated with your ORCiD with ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ systems.
See the Sign up or connect an ORCiD via Aurora guide for step-by-step instructions.
Things you should do with your ORCiD
-
Step 1: Register it as required for CaRST
HDR Students are required to register an ORCiD as part of the Career and Research Skills Training (CaRST) training and development program.
-
Step 2: Populate your ORCiD profile
Once you have registered for ORCiD, you can populate your record with key information about you as a researcher. This includes adding existing works to your ORCiD profile, grant and funding details, biographical information, and more.
Refer to the Populate your ORCiD guide for step-by-step instructions.
-
Step 3: Link it in your Researcher Profile
You can create a link on your Researcher Profile to your ORCiD. Refer to the Add ORCiD to your Researcher Profile guide  for step-by-step instructions.
-
Step 4: Provide it to publishers
Your ORCiD can be provided to publishers (), allowing them to link your ORCiD to your publication.
This will also enable online databases to accurately link your name to this publication, which will also enable internal ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ systems like Aurora to harvest your publications.
