  • Biography/ Background

    Peter is a former Head of the . He conducts research in the area of Asian cinema and other popular media. He completed his PhD in 2002 at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Melbourne in the Department of English (Cultural Studies) and the Asia Institute (Chinese Studies). He also holds a Graduate Diploma of Education from the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Melbourne, with teaching methods of LOTE (Chinese) and English as a Second Language (ESL), and a BA (Hons) from Deakin ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ majoring in Chinese and ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n Studies. Peter has extensive teaching experience in the Media and Communications Program at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Melbourne and in the MA Communications program at RMIT ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥. Now at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide, he currently teaches Asian Film Studies, Honours Film Theory, (Study Abroad course with Ritsumeikan ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥, Kyoto) and Screenwriting. He supervises a number of PhD and Masters candidates. In Semester 2, 2011 he was a Visiting Fellow at the Institute of Comparative Culture (ICC), Sophia ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥, Tokyo, Japan.
