  • Biography/ Background


    Janet Smith has extensive experience in intensive care nursing as a clinician and educator. Her roles include Registered Nurse and ICU Clinical Facilitator (Undergraduate Nursing). She has experience in Science and a research focus into human body systems and disease processes.
    After working as a Research Assistant in the Department of Physiology at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide. Janet worked as a Tutor/ Associate Lecturer for 9 years at Flinders ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥, teaching into the undergraduate and postgraduate nursing and midwifery programs as well as designing curriculums. Janet is currently working at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide as a Course Coordinator for the Bachelor of Nursing degree and has Course Coordinated in the Masters in Clinical Nursing degree. I have in the past held the role of Clinical Lecturer supporting undergraduate students on clinical placements.
    I am currently undertaking a PhD in the topic coronary artery disease in women. I am interested in exploring the mechanisms of sex differences in order to explain the differences between genders in clinical outcomes after revascularisation procedures.

     

  • Qualifications

     

    Janet completed a Bachelor of Science (Honours) at The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide, a Bachelor of Nursing at Flinders ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ and Masters in Clinical Education at Flinders ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥. PhD candidate at The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide.
