Uni hosts free public lectures

Three of the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide's leading teachers and researchers will give FREE public talks in a weekly series beginning at 4.15pm today (Wednesday, October 5).

The series is hosted by the , and features recently appointed Professors to the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ speaking on their areas of expertise. The lectures are free, open to the public and media, and showcase the diversity of research and teaching occurring at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide.

• The first lecture will be given today (Wednesday, October 5) by Professor of Professor Nick Jose. He will examine the traditions, and current state, of reading and writing in ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ in his lecture titled "A Shelf Of Our Own".

• The second lecture will be given by the Head of the , Professor Graham Hubbard, on Wednesday, October 12. His lecture, titled "Characteristics of Winning Organisations in ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥: the Winning Wheel" will look at the common elements among high-performing ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n businesses.

• The third lecture will be given by the Head of the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥'s , anthropologist Professor John Gray. He will discuss how high caste Hindus in Nepal use commonplace domestic activities as ways of building and understanding their concept of the cosmos in his lecture "Domestic Mandala: Houses and the Cosmos in Nepal".
