Chancellor awarded Queen's birthday honour

ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide Chancellor, the , has been made a Companion of the Order of ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ for his eminent service to the Parliament of ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥, particularly through the development of policy reform in the portfolios of the environment and defence, and to ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥'s international relations through senior diplomatic representation to the United Nations.
Mr Hill, appointed Chancellor of the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide in June 2010, is highly regarded for his contribution as a Member of Parliament, which included 25 years as Senator for South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ (Liberal).
A ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide graduate in Arts and Law, Mr Hill also holds a Masters Degree in Law from ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ College London.
Mr Hill is internationally known for his former role as Permanent Representative of ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ to the United Nations and is an Adjunct Professor in Sustainability, United States Studies Centre, at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Sydney.
ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide Deputy Chancellor Pamela Martin, on behalf of the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide Council, said: "We are privileged to have someone with such a stellar reputation, both within ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ and internationally, who is willing to make such a huge commitment to our ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥. We are delighted that his contribution to the country has been recognised with this most prestigious award."
Other recipients included Professor Graeme Hugo, ARC ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n Professorial Fellow and Director of the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n Population Migration Research Centre, who was awarded an Officer of the Order of ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ (AO) for distinguished service to population research.
Dr Cate Howell from the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥'s School of Population Health and Clinical Practice was awarded a Medal of the Order of ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ (OAM).
Among the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥'s affiliates recognised in the Honours List were Emeritus Professor Mary Barton AO, Associate Professor Ross Haslam AO, Dr Ratomir Antic AM, Dr Alfred Martin AM, Dr James Muecke AM and Dr Alice Maclennan OAM.
