Three ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide staff members have been announced as finalists for the 2011 in science.

Professor Tanya Monro, Director of the (IPAS), is one of ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥'s leading physicists. The Eureka Prize for Leadership in Science is awarded to an ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n individual who has demonstrated an outstanding role and impact in science.

Professor James Paton, NHMRC ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ Fellow, and Dr Adrienne Paton, Principal Research Fellow, in the Research Centre for Infectious Diseases, , have been nominated as part of a team with collaborators from Monash ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥. This led them to be considered for the prize, which recognises outstanding recent contributions to infectious diseases research.

Each will be competing against other entrants from across ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ to be in the running for one of the 24 Eureka Prizes. The winners will be announced at an awards dinner in Sydney on Tuesday 6 September.

The Eureka Prizes are presented annually by the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n Museum and aim to reward and celebrate excellence in ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n science.
