ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ Chancellor appointed for third term

The has reappointed current Chancellor the for his third two-year term as Chancellor.
Mr von Doussa became ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide Chancellor in July 2004. His current term finishes in July 2008 and this has now been extended until July 2010.
A 1962 Law graduate of the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide, Mr von Doussa is President of the and a noted champion of human rights. He has had a long and distinguished career in the judiciary, serving as a judge in the , the Supreme Court of South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ and Pacific Islands.
ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide Deputy Chancellor Mr said: "The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ Council is delighted that Mr von Doussa has accepted this new term. During his time as Chancellor his strong inclusive leadership, commitment to the principles of equity and community, and his status locally, nationally and internationally have proved invaluable to the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ Council."
Mr von Doussa will talk about human rights and its importance in coping effectively with climate change as part of the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥'s Research Tuesdays public seminar series next week on Tuesday 11 December.
He and the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥'s Professor Barry Brook will give a joint presentation on the impacts of climate change on global communities.
