Good Uni Guide shines brightly on Adelaide

The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide has again received a positive endorsement in the recently released 2005 edition of the Good Universities Guide achieving a maximum five-star rating in five areas.

Generally regarded by potential students as the most reliable source for choosing a university and program, the 2005 edition says: "the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide has been working on the quality of undergraduate courses and teaching, and has tried to admit people from various under-represented groups.

"It has a very good combination of student services and student-staff ratio to be proud of. A high proportion of ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide undergraduates go on to do honours and postgraduate work."

The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ received the maximum five-star rating for its prestige status, research grants, research intensity, staff-student ratios and positive graduate outcomes.

"I am encouraged that we continue to rate highly in the Good Universities Guide," Vice-Chancellor Professor James McWha said today. "This medium is well researched by potential students and it's crucial our high standards are continually recognised."

As the country's third oldest university, the Guide acknowledges the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide as the first ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n university to teach women on equal terms with men and also the first to establish a conservatorium of music.

The Good Universities Guide is a consumers' guide to undergraduate courses and campuses across ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ and includes:
