Extra places awarded to Adelaide

The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide has succeeded in winning more than 200 extra places for students from 2007, in areas such as , , and .

New places for ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n universities were announced today by Federal Education Minister .

The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide was awarded 215 extra places out of South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥'s total allocation of 285 places.

In addition to those places already announced for , and at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide, the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ will now offer extra places in , , and . The places will be offered in Bachelor and Masters degrees and Graduate Diplomas, including places for some new academic programs.

"This is an outstanding result for the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide, as it recognises our role in providing the key skills required by graduates for ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥'s future," says the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥'s Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic), .

"The extra places are a great boost to education in South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥," Professor McDougall says.

Bachelor of Nursing - 10
Master of Clinical Psychology - 10
Graduate Diploma in Nursing Science (Mental Health Nursing) - 25
Bachelor of Medicine/Bachelor of Surgery - 40
Bachelor of Teaching - 20
Graduate Diploma of Education - 10
Master of Geostatistics - 20
Bachelor of Engineering (Mining Engineering) - 30
Bachelor of Engineering (Pharmaceutical Engineering) - 30
Master of Marine Engineering - 20
