The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide has risen in one of the world’s most prestigious rankings, and has been named one of the highest globally ranked universities in ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥, with the release of the 2019 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU).
The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide is now ranked 137 in the world by ARWU 2019, up two places on last year.
“While the various global rankings differ in their own ways, they all maintain one story: the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide is the leading institution in South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ for education and research,” says Professor Mike Brooks, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) and Provost at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide.
“It’s important for our students and graduates to understand that an education from the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide is recognised around the world.
“Our latest ranking is yet another pleasing result, reinforcing our position as the State’s leader in research and innovation.
“Research is a key driver of economic success, and our engagement with industry under the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥’s new strategic plan, Future Making, is already demonstrating our strong commitment to the strategic economic, cultural and social needs of the State and the nation.
“The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide’s consistently high position in the world rankings also adds great value to the State by helping to attract students from interstate and overseas,” Professor Brooks says.
The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide continues to be placed in the top 150 in all three of the major global rankings:
• Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU): 137
• QS World ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ Rankings: 106
• Times Higher Education World ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ Rankings: 135 (new rankings due out in September).
