Uni congratulates new Chief Scientist

The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide today has welcomed the appointment of Dr Jim Peacock to the prestigious position of .
Executive Dean of the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥'s , Professor Peter Rathjen, says Dr Peacock's appointment bodes well for the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥.
"I am delighted by this appointment, and congratulate Dr Peacock on being chosen," Professor Rathjen says.
"Certainly it is good news for the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide. Dr Peacock has a distinguished record of research and leadership in an area of great interest to us, , and I know that he shares similar views to us on the value and importance of basic and applied research to the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n economy.
"Dr Peacock also studied and taught here in the 1960s, and he currently serves on the Advisory Board for Agriculture and Food in the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥'s .
"I wish Dr Peacock all the best in his new role, and look forward to further collaboration between him and the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥'s science community."
