South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥'s role as a leader in agricultural education has been boosted with the official opening of a new teaching suite at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide's Waite campus.

Up to 500 students involved in eight different degree courses will be using the state-of-the-art facilities, which include student computing facilities, a teleteaching lecture theatre and separate videoconferencing rooms.

The courses include primary production, environmental science, agribusiness and wine science. The development further expands the facilities on the campus, where the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide is co-located with the South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n Research and Development Institute, Primary Industries SA, the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n Wine Research Institute, and several divisions of CSIRO.

It is the largest agricultural and environmental research facility in the southern hemisphere. The $1.1 million facilities were officially opened by the South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n Minister for Employment, Training and Further Education, Mrs Dorothy Kotz on TGuesday 11 March.
