Develop skills in creativity, performance, communication and production to prepare you for a career in the burgeoning music industry. As a music student at The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide, you will gain a strong foundation in practical and theoretical music development and innovation. You will have the opportunity to specialise in a variety of areas such as: classical voice, music composition, music education and pedagogy, music performance (classical or jazz), musicology, popular music or sonic arts.
As a music student you will:
- Compose, record, mix, master and produce creative projects
- Explore the music industry and issues shaping it
- Discover cultural, historical and stylistic aspects of western and non-western music
- Receive intensive professional training and one-on-one tuition
- Work with international performers, teachers and guest artists
- Perform in musical theatre productions.
The Elder Conservatorium of Music at The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide is the oldest tertiary music school in ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ and one of the country’s leading music institutions. Our music teaching staff have a wealth of experience as international performers and teachers. Additionally you will benefit from invaluable experience through ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ partnerships with the Adelaide Festival, South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n Film Corporation, State Opera of South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥, Adelaide Cabaret Festival and Adelaide Fringe. Students will also have the opportunity to collaborate with a unique blend of media and music at the Sia Furler Institute for Contemporary Music and Media.
