The transformation begins – Barr Smith Library redevelopment

Barr Smith Library

The transformation of the Barr Smith Library is about to commence, with two major building works projects starting in November: a complete refurbishment of the southern end of Level 1 to facilitate the move of the Elder Music Library into the Barr Smith Library, and a smaller joint Hub Central – ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ Library project to improve signage and wayfinding on Level 3.

New records repository open for business

In 2016, the sale of Thebarton Campus resulted in the need to relocate the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥â€™s off-site records repository. This significant project involved the establishment of a new facility on the lower level of the Woolhouse Library at Waite Campus. Over 25,000 boxes of temporary and permanent files, as well as the bulk of the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ Archives collection, were transferred to Waite during February and March this year. Importantly, restrictions on access to the records were kept to a minimum and business has now returned to normal.
