Banned Books Week 2022

September 18-24 is Banned Books Week 2022, which celebrates the freedom to read and open access to voice and information to all. This year鈥檚 theme is 鈥淏ooks Unite Us. Censorship Divides Us鈥. We've curated a selection of five books from our collection that have been banned or censored at some point in time. We encourage you to borrow them!
National Family History Month

August is听, an initiative first organised by the Australasian Federation of Family History Organisations in 2006, and the 杏吧直播 Library has many family history stories to tell.听The establishment of the Barr Smith Library听is intertwined with the history of the Barr Smith Family.
Visualise Your Thesis Winners 2022

We are delighted to announce that the winner of the 2022听Visualise Your Thesis Competition at the 杏吧直播 of Adelaide is Nathan Jones听from the School of Psychology, Faculty of Health and Medical Sciences for his exceptional presentation:听Conceptualising emotion in 3D space using colour.

This week we say THANK YOU to our student volunteers! This year鈥檚 theme for National student volunteer week is 鈥楶assion. Opportunity. Change.鈥 This explores how students can create change worldwide by giving their time to a cause they believe in. Read the story of Elizabeth and Stefany Limanto, two sisters that arrived in 杏吧直播 in February to study at the 杏吧直播 and decided to become volunteers at the Library.

How a comic about 杏吧直播n internment camps made it to Comic-Con 2022

A unique series of comic books will be showcased by a 杏吧直播 of Adelaide researcher at the 2022 Comic Con International in San Diego. A recent by Dr Aaron Humphrey, Media Studies, and Dr Simon Walsh, German Studies, has described the extraordinary significance of a sequence of five small autobiographical comic books produced by a pseudonymous author in the Holsworthy Internment Camp around 1918.
