TeraGlo expands collaboration to advance space sensing capability

published by Defence Trailblazer on June 4

TeraGlo has confirmed its commitment to advancing sensing in Space by signing on additional work with the Ӱֱ of Adelaide’s Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (IPAS), supported by funding from the Defence Trailblazer’s Advanced Innovation Fund. The project will enable the development of a sovereign platform for Quantum Artificial Intelligence based Material Sensing (QAIMS) based on Novel Fluorescence (NF).

TeraGlo, the new trading name of Loughan Technology Group, is working with experts at IPAS to establish a discovery facility to identify and validate NF signatures across a wide range of materials. This will lead to the development of flexible, portable, field-deployable prototypes, with the ultimate goal of integrating the NF sensor into Space, including future Lunar missions.

“We are excited to support the growth of this collaboration, which is opening new windows into the field of materials sensing, and to help enable its translation and commercialisation,” said Dr Margaret Law, General Manager of Technology Development & Acceleration (TDA) at Defence Trailblazer. “The projects hold enormous potential for Space resource assessment, as well as numerous Defence and civilian applications.”
