2025 AIP/IPAS Physics Careers Fair Connects Students with Industry

The 2025 AIP/IPAS Physics Careers Fair took place on Thursday 8 May at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide, bringing together over 70 students and recent graduates with employers across the physics and broader STEM sectors.

Co-organised by Dr Chris Perrella and Braeden Borg, the event was a collaboration between the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n Institute of Physics (SA Branch) and the Institute for Photonics and Advanced Sensing (IPAS) and supported by Quantum ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥.

The evening opened with presentations from industry representatives, followed by a networking session. Attendees had the opportunity to engage directly with employers, including:

  • Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG): Scott Bailey, Liam Brownlie, David Broderick, and Anna Hurt
  • Minelab Metal Detectors: Edward Hollitt and Benjamin Whelan
  • Lockheed Martin ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥: Grant Nelson
  • ATRAD Pty Ltd: Bronwyn Dolman
  • QinetiQ ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥: Samantha Summerford and Dashavir C.
  • Fleet Space Technologies: Timothy Jones
  • Saber Astronautics: Hamish Self
