Celebrating the International Day of Light
Yesterday, the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide’s Optica Student Chapter hosted a captivating lecture in honour of the International Day of Light, drawing an enthusiastic crowd of science enthusiasts.
, Director of the Centre of Light for Life, led the audience on a journey through the wonders of light in his presentation, "A Trip on the Light Fantastic."
The lecture illuminated the critical role light plays in tackling societal challenges, from harnessing solar energy to making groundbreaking discoveries like detecting gravitational waves. Professor Dholakia also showcased cutting-edge technologies, including optical tweezers and 3D holographic imaging, illustrating how light is reshaping our understanding of the world.
