Jacqueline Lo gives speech to ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ Awards graduates

On Tuesday 31 August, 19 ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ Awards Scholarship holders graduated with Master degrees from a diverse range of programs including Sciences, Engineering, Professions, Education, Arts, Health and Medical Sciences. The completion celebration took place in Bonython Hall and was viewed via livestream by family and friends of graduands.

are administered by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) and provide opportunities for people from developing countries to undertake full time undergraduate or postgraduate study at participating ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n universities and Technical and Further Education (TAFE) institutions.

At the event, a keynote speech was given by Professor Jacqueline Lo, Pro Vice-Chancellor (International), celebrating cultural diversity and the personal sacrifice of these individuals, particularly during the challenging global pandemic.

Your time in Adelaide not only provides you with specialist academic skills at one of ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥â€™s top universities, but helps to develop important professional skills and a broader world view. Your Adelaide education has promoted diverse thinking, better communication skills across languages and cultures, and builds important international connections that will facilitate your future careers.â€

Ms. Erin Leggat, Deputy Director South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ State Office, Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, also addressed and congratulated the scholars on their great achievements. Ms. Leggat commented that the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ Awards aim to contribute to the requirements of ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥â€™s partner countries in line with bilateral and regional agreements to drive developmental change.
