A new chapter for higher education in South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥

In 2023, the Government of South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥, the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide and the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ signed a Heads of Agreement to support the creation of a new university for the future.

On 8 March 2024, the South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n Parliament established Adelaide ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ under the Adelaide ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ Act 2023 (SA) (the Act). The Act sets the pathway for the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide and ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ to transition their teaching, research and other operations to Adelaide ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥.

Adelaide ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ is a leading contemporary university of global standing, created to enable people, industry and society to thrive – shaping a better ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ and a better world.

Here's what you need to know

  • Both the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide and the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ will continue to operate as usual until the end of 2025.
  • Adelaide ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ will commence operations in January 2026.
  • Adelaide ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ will become the legal successor in law of The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide and ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥.

What do you need to do right now?

At this stage, no action is required from you. If you have a current contract with us, it remains valid and binding under its existing terms.

We are actively preparing for a smooth and coordinated transfer and are committed to keeping you informed of any changes that may impact your contract.

You may have already received specific communications regarding your contract. If not, the next communication you receive about this process will be from Adelaide ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥.
