We are pleased to invite you to participate in the International Symposium on Green Urban Futures to be held at the National Wine Centre in Adelaide, South ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ on 3-4 December 2025

The pressure from urban development and the increase in extremely hot days will potentially have catastrophic effects on human health and adversely impact ecosystems and biodiversity.Ìý But together we can act now to reverse these impacts by creating, maintaining and sustaining greenspaces to cool cities, provide visual relief, increase biodiversity, reduce cooling energy of buildings, retain groundwater, and sequestrate carbon emission. Quality greenspaces enable people to be healthier and happier.Ìý

The International Symposium on Green Urban Futures, held by The ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide’s Environment Institute, in partnership with and , will present prominent local, national and international speakers who will address existing and future urban challenges and offer solutions from various lens – policies and planning, trees and urban forests, biodiversity, social sciences and economics, public health, design and built environment, as well as education. Reflections and lessons learned from London and Surrey - UK, Barcelona - Spain, Bern – Switzerland and other EU cities in the Varcities network (Visionary nature-based Actions for health, well-being and Resilience in Cities) as well as Singapore will be shared, together with lessons and actions in ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥n cities.
