INDO 2001 - Indonesian Culture and Society

Flinders ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ - Semester 1 - 2022

Please note that Indonesian is taught by Flinders ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ staff as part of an arrangement between the two Universities. Classes are held at the ÐÓ°ÉÖ±²¥ of Adelaide North Terrace Campus, except for some classes which are held in Victoria Square or at Bedford Park. The topic will introduce Indonesian societies and cultures including indigenous communities and belief systems, Hindu Bali, the religion of Java, the place of Islam, the impact of colonialism and the West, legacies of the revolution and the Sukarno and Suharto years. Gender, development, human rights and environmental issues will also be addressed
